Vision
Producing a stylish and beautiful film, filmed in perfect time typical locations, with atmosphere created by shooting in low light, rain and fog, and helping nature along with rain machines and digital enhancement. We will film on location throughout, rather than using only man-made artificial backdrops and studios. Additional artistic atmosphere will be created in post-production by the use of digital matte painting, and other cutting edge technology. The London scenes will mostly be shot in London, with a few modern visual effects. We will spend a lot of time working with historians and Victorian enthusiasts to source the best locations and props available. Even though the emphasis will be on finding perfect locations, and shooting as much as we can, we will naturally also spend a large amount of time on post-production, working with Odd Productions, one of the most skillful and sought after post-production companies around.
Locations
Spending a lot of time on research, working closely with police historians, Ripperologists, local historic societies and Victorian enthusiasts to find the best locations available, using still photography and test filming to compare and choose the perfect locations, while also considering accessibility and available accommodation nearby.
Period Piece
Although the story is set in 1888, it will definitely excite the modern audience. The world wide fascination with Jack the Ripper continues to increase, tourists flock from all over the globe to Whitechapel in London to see where the murders were committed, and the general interest in this very exciting period is steadily growing. In the modern world we are still drawn in to read about serial killers, we mull over unsolved crimes, as we're trying to understand the criminal mind, but most of all we still enjoy being mesmerized by a good story.
